How it works

CVAD Registry was intentionally designed to be fluid and evolving in order to provide current & relevant data for improving the vascular care specialty. Nurses, Physicians, Bedside Clinicians and Techs login and then record their procedural data. The registry collects that data, runs verification algorithms, secures it and makes it available for collaboration & comparing. This ongoing cycle of information allows for better patient outcomes, better communication, and national level benchmarks.

Hospitals

Whether you are a hospital administrator, a quality manager, a nurse executive, or an infection control professional, the CVAD Registry has valuable information for you and your teams. The CVAD Registry is a tool that your vascular access team or PICC team can use to make meaningful changes to your practice in order to create a better experience for your patients. Increases in clinical competence, patient outcomes and higher patient satisfaction scores will be seen immediately by participating in this real-time registry.

Review, Regulate and Reward. With the advent of Health IT upon us, CVADRegistry.com serves a unique need in your institution. There are over 1.5M Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs) placed each year across the US alone and there is no data repository for these procedures…until now.

Would you like to reduce the length of stay for your vascular access patients?  Would you like to know which diagnosis need to be referred more quickly in order to have patients discharged more timely?  The CVAD Registry can accomplish this for you and save your institution thousands of dollars in DRGs.

Electronic Health Records, Meaningful Use, Health IT, IPads, apps…all these are shaping the way hospitals and clinicians interact with their patients. Patient-centered care is at the heart of all of these changes. Did you know that over 90% of all hospitalized patients will receive some sort of vascular access device or IV line during their admission? Were you aware that 58% of all patients were dissatisfied with the level of line care and procedure they received? With CMS mandating reimbursement tied to patient satisfaction, it only makes sense to become a part of the CVAD Registry. You will be amazed at what this type of data can show you.

Savings
Data analysis provides opportunities to evaluate where earlier line placement will shorten length of stay and identify top diagnoses that cost the institution the most on DRGS. This will allow better patient identification to provide early assessment and line placement in.

Assessment
Reports indicate patient care and product performance

Publishing
Information gathered and learned can be incorporated into publishing efforts

Like Institution Reports
Comparisons to others with similar size and teams will provide more accurate view of statistics – only vascular access database to do this

No Limit on Users
Your entire team receives individual user credentials

Increased Patient Satisfaction
Patient scores now a component of reimbursement in 2011 which means all clinicians now held to higher standard of care. Fewer sticks and fewer IVs before PICC means better vessel care.
